The Queen of Dancehall Spice has pointed out that some male artistes are hypocrites in dancehall who use women to engage in sexual form of activities in music videos, yet lashes out against the LGBTQ Community.
Spice raised the point in a recent interview with Forbes Magazine, in which she was asked about the complex relationship in Dancehall and Reggae music towards the LGBTQ Community.
“I believe as a Caribbean woman that even though the community makes it seem like it’s against the LGBT community, I feel it’s hypocritical because a lot of male artists use two females making out in the videos. And so it’s hypocritical because it’s like they’re saying it’s okay to be a member of the LGBTQ community if you’re female because they enjoy it and they sing about it,” Spice said.
Spice say even though she has been bashed by Dancehall peers she’s holding onto her opinion as she believe in equal rights for all.
