International recording artist Vybz Kartel hit single “Fever” strike gold in the UK. The song certified gold after 400,000 units sold through streams and sales according to the British Phonographic Industry. The song produce by TJ Records has amassed 147 million streams on Spotify as of July 3, 2026. “Fever” has also certified gold in the United States according to the Recording Industry Association Of America with atleast 500,000 units sold. Vybz Kartel explain the difficult process recording the song in prison before sending it to engineer at the time during his incarceration.
“I had to deejay directly into the iPhone…” he recalled. “They gave you a mattress, right, so I used the mattress to imitate the padding in the studio… I had the phone, like, three feet away from my face and I wrapped the mattress around my head and recorded. Yeah, it was crazy man, on my knees too… It was crazy.” He explained
